Finger print and a Bengali

Khan Bahadur Kazi Azizul Haque

Fingerprints are now involved in everyday activities. This is the mobile phone lock that is being opened with fingerprints in the presence of the office or in the identification of criminals with fingerprints at various gates. Do you know who invented this fingerprint detection system first? But you will be surprised to know that the inventor of fingerprint is a Bengali Muslim. whose name is Khan Bahadur Kazi Azizul Haque.

Besides, Kazi Azizul Haque was born in 1872 in Kasbar Payagram of Khulna District. At the end of the nineteenth century, two Bengali sub-inspectors, Kazi Azizul Haque and Hemchandra Bose, are busy working in the Bengal Police Department. Both were keenly observing, then, a particular subject of criminology. Scattered fingerprint samples. They were basically thinking of starting a new system with those. As the work progressed, the tension was building up inside them. The moment came suddenly! New methods of criminal identification were developed. Which came before the whole world in the name of finger print verification.

Many people have worked on fingerprints before, but our Qazi Azizul Haque was the first to discover its practical use, how to verify it, and how to identify people using fingerprints.

Meanwhile, Edward Richard Henry was the IG of British Bengal Police at that time. He hired two Bengali geniuses for research on fingerprints, one mathematician Kazi Azizul Haque, the other Hem Chandra Bose. Together they built a huge collection of 7000 fingerprints. can be identified. It was a great discovery of modern science. Although the system was supposed to be called the "Boss-Hawk Identification System". But instead its name became, 'Henry Classification System'.

Basically, Mr. Henry himself started promoting to everyone that he himself invented this fingerprint detection system. Even Kazi Azizul refused to give any recognition to Haque. He also published a paper under his own name. Meanwhile, the system discovered by Kazi Azizul Haque of Bangladesh became the name of 'Henry Classification System'.

Meanwhile, in the January 10, 2005 issue of Current Science magazine, JS Sodhi and Yashjit Kaur wrote a long article entitled 'The Forgotten Indian Pioneers of Fingerprint Science', in which they candidly acknowledged the contribution of Khan Bahadur Azizul Haque in the classification of fingerprints. , his contribution was the most in this regard.

It is now clear that the 'Henry System' is no longer Henry's. Now fans and followers of Azizul Haque call this method of fingerprinting as 'Henry-Haque-Bose System'. Britain's 'The Fingerprint Society' has launched 'The Fingerprint Society Azizul Haque and Hemchandra Bose Prize' under the initiative of Fancy. The award will be given mainly to those who will make special contribution in forensic and related fields.
